What a medical cannabis treatment actually costs
Cost is often what decides whether treatment fits the budget. Below are the real ranges, with what is fixed, what varies and why. Nothing is sold here, and there is no commercial tie to any manufacturer or association.
Product, per month
R$ 50 to R$ 300
The product only. Does not include the consultation or shipping, where it applies.
First year, in total
R$ 1.350 to R$ 4.350
Twelve months of product, plus 3 consultations: the first one and the adjustment follow-ups, which are more frequent early on.
These are observed market ranges, not a quote. The real figure depends on the prescribed dose, the product chosen with the doctor, and the exchange rate in the month of purchase. Much of the supply chain is dollar-denominated, so the same product changes price from one month to the next.
Ranges last reviewed in August 2026.
What is fixed, and can be worked out now
Two things depend on neither dose, channel nor exchange rate, and one of them is free, contrary to what many people assume.
The consultation: R$ 250
The price is published on this site and is the same for the first consultation and for follow-ups. A follow-up has no separate price: when you need one, simply book again.
Anvisa authorisation: free
The import authorisation is requested by the patient, at no cost, and is valid for two years. Nobody needs to pay an agent or intermediary for it. If someone charges for this service, they are charging for convenience, not for a fee that exists.
Why the price varies so much
Between the cheapest and the most expensive treatment there is a difference of more than tenfold. These are the factors behind that gap:
- The concentration of the product and the dose your case requires, which is the heaviest factor by far
- The channel: association, pharmacy in Brazil or import, each with very different price structures
- The exchange rate, since much of the supply chain is dollar-denominated
- The stage of treatment: the first months usually involve more consultations and more dose adjustments
- The duration: some indications are time-limited, others are ongoing
When cost is the obstacle
If the ranges above put treatment out of reach, that deserves to be said during the consultation, not afterwards. Channel, concentration and dosing can be planned from the start around what is sustainable for you. A treatment you cannot keep up helps no one. There are also patient associations with social pricing and, in some municipalities, public supply programmes.
Still unsure whether it applies to your case?
The consultation assesses whether there is a clinical indication and, if there is, builds a plan that fits your reality.
